It has perhaps been a long time in coming, but a new project has come up with a much easier way in which to download and create your own creative covers for your timeline.
The Facebook cover maker project to which I am referring has called itself Make a Cover for Facebook.
It remains to be seen the extent to which people will engage in Facebook cover creating even with a much easier tool with which to enhance their timelines. Will people decide that they want to make their own Facebook cover or be set in their current behaviour trend of just using their photos?
Make a Cover for Facebook seeks to smooth through the process of creating a cover for your timeline in an attempt to curb the current knowledge requirements for making something more creative. In practical terms what ‘Make a Cover for Facebook’ does is to provide an interface that enables the step by step creation of a Facebook Cover where one is required to select categories such as clothing and choose from favourable designs.
There is a bid by this free Facebook cover creator tool to make the process of cover design much easier, however the cost of this simplicity is that of limited functions. You are able to do things like manipulate the cover design by the selection of various options, but you are not able to more proactively “paint” the image without downloading the Facebook cover design first and using a more advanced graphics package.
Yet Make a Cover for Facebook is still a very useful program as one is able to create a Facebook timeline cover so much easier than the current cover maker utilities currently allow.
Presently there are just four characters available for us to create a Facebook timeline cover out of; however, I am reliably informed that another two characters will be released this month and that the tool is receiving continuous development. So watch this space.
Once you’ve made your Facebook cover the program provides you the opportunity to apply it to your Facebook profile. The Facebook cover designs that this maker tool creates are somewhat similar in nature, but they are different enough that it could be claimed that the covers are unique.
Whether Make a Cover for Facebook is the first tool that represents a sea of change in the distribution of Facebook Covers remains to be seen, but the first generation version of Make a Cover for Facebook is worth checking out – and is certainly something to keep an eye on.
